Who is LogicVision?
LogicVision is a test and yield learning company in the design for manufacturing (DFM) semiconductor market segment. LogicVision’s silicon test solution, ETCreate™ literally embeds test structures right inside semiconductor integrated circuits (ICs). This allows LogicVision customers to identify faults in the IC early in the debug and manufacturing process--faults that may lead to end-product field failures. These test structures, called eyes-in-the-die, test the device’s memory, logic, and analog circuitry as well as interconnects and timing parameters.
With these “eyes” and with LogicVision’s silicon debug solution, Silicon Insight, test engineers can probe the IC from the inside out and access valuable data about what is going on inside the IC. This information can then be analyzed by LogicVision’s silicon analysis solution, Yield Insight, to learn what must be done to maximize yield. This ability to identify and analyze failure information, and then take corrective action is called “yield learning.” With an effective yield learning strategy, companies can lower their cost of test and realize very high return on investment (ROI) in embedded test IP.
LogicVision customers include independent device manufacturers (IDMs), fabless semiconductor companies, semiconductor foundries, and end-product manufacturers. LogicVision’s customers are often designing the most complex ICs called System-on-Chips (SoCs). SoCs are found in most digital consumer products, medical products, networking and wireless communications devices, computers, and satellite systems.

The key requirement for yield learning at these geometries is to have a "magnifying glass" to see the details of any malfunction, and a then a method to compile the failure data that has been accumulated.
