Software Engineer, Ottawa, Ontario
Responsible for developing and architecting key elements of design analysis software product offering, with primary focus on the design rules checking tools’ enhancements and bug fixes.
Responsibilities
- Electronic Designs Automation software development to support new products
- Maintains design analysis tools and other software infrastructure
- Interacts with hardware design engineers to ensure that the software tools have the needed capabilities
- Works with application engineers to maintain existing products and provide customized features and solutions for specific customers
Secondary Responsibilities
- Creates test suites and supports principal engineer on implementation of design specifications
Education/Skills/Experience
- MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent; or 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-5 years experience in object oriented design specification and coding of complex commercial software on a Unix development platform
- Advanced knowledge of C++, compilers, Pure, Quantify, source code control systems
- Good experience in digital logic design using hardware description languages (Verilog and VHDL) is an important asset
- Knowledge of design for testability is very desirable
